The Strand Hotel

The Strand Hotel presented a unique challenge. The client wanted a warm, residential feel across 120 guest rooms while meeting stringent energy targets for BREEAM Excellent certification. The existing fluorescent scheme consumed 28W per square metre. The brief demanded we halve that figure without compromising the guest experience.

Our specification team selected premium fire-rated downlights with 2700K colour temperature and 90+ CRI for all guest rooms. Corridors received DALI-controlled linear profiles with occupancy sensing, reducing overnight consumption to near zero. The lobby and reception areas feature decorative pendants with tunable white capability, allowing the team to shift from an energising 4000K in mornings to a relaxing 2700K in evenings.

The electrical contractor praised the consistency of our product documentation. Every fitting arrived with IES files, wiring diagrams, and installation guides. Zero returns. Zero site queries on specification. The project completed two weeks ahead of programme.
